We are incredibly proud to celebrate the remarkable achievement of our Year 12 student, Amani Zubair, who has recently completed a deeply spiritual and inspiring journey in memorising the entire Quran.
Becoming a Hafiza, a title given to someone who has committed the Quran to memory, is no small feat. It requires extraordinary dedication, discipline, and unwavering faith. At our Islamic college of sport, we are proud to support our students holistically, spiritually, academically, and personally. In Amani’s case, this meant providing the time, encouragement, and support for her to pursue this sacred goal while continuing to excel in her studies and leadership.
“We were honoured to congratulate Amani on becoming a Hafiza. It breaks the stereotype of it being a male-dominant achievement. It’s definitely not an easy feat. Her resilience and commitment to her faith is what shone through in the end. One day Amani asked if she could take a few days off to study for her upcoming Quran test, and we were more than happy to support her with assessment extensions. We wanted to be part of her rewarding journey.”
– Hassan Ellahibi, ICS Principal

The word Hafiz/Hafiza translates to “one who guards” or “preserver.” Amani’s dedication to preserving the words of the Quran is a testament to her strength of character and the deep connection she maintains with her faith.
For Amani, this is not the conclusion of a journey, but the beginning of a legacy rooted in faith, leadership, and community.
