A message from ICS Principal, Hassan Ellahibi.
Assalaamu Alaykum,
As we come to the end of another remarkable year at the Islamic College of Sport, I find myself reflecting with immense pride on the growth, achievements, and spirit shown by our students and community. This year has been filled with invaluable experiences, sporting partner visits that opened doors for our young students, coaching workshops, elite training sessions with Olympians and professional athletes and leadership seminars that have broadened horizons and inspired future pathways. Each opportunity highlighted the strength of our partnerships and the commitment shared by everyone to nurture not just athletes, but confident, well-rounded young people.
Our students embraced these opportunities with enthusiasm and maturity, representing our college with respect and determination. Staff worked tirelessly to guide and support every program, ensuring that learning extended far beyond the classroom. I thank you sincerely for your efforts.
To our parents, thank you for standing beside us every step of the way. Your encouragement, trust, and continued belief in our vision make all the difference. To our sporting partners, we express our deepest gratitude for your generosity, perseverance, and dedication to our students’ success.
A true highlight of the year was our unforgettable inaugural Year 12 graduation night held at the iconic MCG. Celebrating our graduates in such a historic venue was both symbolic and inspiring, a perfect way to honour their years of hard work. The evening was filled with joy, heartfelt speeches, and moments that will forever be etched in the memories of students, families, and staff. Our graduating class leaves behind a legacy of leadership, resilience, and unity.
We extend a special congratulations to one of our own, Adam Sweid, who achieved an extraordinary milestone by being selected in the National AFL Draft by the Fremantle Dockers. Adam’s journey embodies dedication, passion, and the very best of what our college strives to cultivate. His success is a huge story not only for him and his family, but for our entire school community. We are incredibly proud of him and look forward to seeing his continued growth on the national stage.
We look forward to bigger and better things next year inshallah. Our North Campus will transition to Windy Hill in Essendon with a new and vibrant environment full of state of the art resources. We double in size in the South East and West Campuses, now offering Year 11 and 12 at respective locations.
Finally, I’d like to thank our School Board and Directors for their ongoing support, belief and contributions throughout this journey.
May the year ahead be filled with even more opportunities, successes, and shared achievements. Thank you all for making this year one we will always cherish.
