Year 12 VET Cohort Nears The Finish Line

VET Sport, Aquatics & Recreation Update

This year has been an exceptional one, with our VET Sport, Aquatics and Recreation students demonstrating both individual excellence and strong cohort collaboration.

As we near the end of the academic year, it’s a fitting time to reflect on the journey of our Year 12 students and celebrate their achievements in this challenging, yet rewarding program.

Throughout the year, students have performed admirably in both theoretical and practical components of the course.

Earlier in the program, all students successfully completed the requirements for Certificate II. Now, with just a few weeks remaining, they are on the cusp of achieving their Certificate III in Sport, Aquatics and Recreation, which is a significant milestone that reflects their commitment, growth, and resilience.

If we were to highlight the standout aspects of the course, it would undoubtedly be the hands-on and practical experiences. Students rose to the challenges presented to them, whether through industry skill activities or leading recreational programs.

These sessions weren’t just enjoyable, they were critical in building both soft and technical skills that will serve them well in future careers and life in general.

One of the most memorable and rewarding parts of the program has been the interaction with the wider community.

The coaching program, particularly the engagement with younger children, showcased the students’ leadership, patience, and ability to apply their learning in real-world settings.

These moments were a testament to the positive impact this course has, not only on students but on the community as a whole.

Of course, the academic rigour of the course also required determination and hard work. For some, the assessment tasks were a natural step in their learning journey.

For others, it demanded a push beyond their usual comfort zones. Regardless of the starting point, each student showed up, gave their best, and displayed the perseverance necessary to meet the course requirements and competencies.

To every student in this program: congratulations.

Your dedication, adaptability, and growth this year have been inspiring.

And lastly, a heartfelt thank you to the families, carers, and school community who have supported these students along the way, from responding to constant reminders, messages home, and follow-ups, your involvement has been invaluable in helping our students succeed.

We look forward to celebrating the final achievements as our students cross the finish line and proudly receive their Certificate qualifications at the Graduation next term insha’Allah.
